I am a big fan of iGoogle, I use it as a dashboard for all my RSS feeds that I visit most regularly, such as Digg, Reddit, BBC news, BBC London weather, to-do lists, TFLs tube status etc, and I like the fact there are many themes available.
I have always used the elegant Earth Light theme, which changes colour according to season. When it flipped to winter, a new orange colour scheme was implemented. I found this a bit hard to read, so I thought I would have a go at creating my own theme.
To keep track of how many people are using the Blackspike theme, I used the fantastic dapper.net service to scrape the google page for the user count, and created a custom RSS feed and embedded it below using the WordPress wp_rss() function:
